Walks programme Walk reports Some Pictures
Why? Walking is a healthy and enjoyable pastime
Where? The Striders make full use of Chepstow’s superb location by walking in the Wye or Usk Valleys, the Forest of Dean, the Brecon Beacons, The Malverns, The Cotswolds or beyond.
When? Every Monday (unless Christmas Day falls on a Monday).
What? Our walks last all day, including time for a picnic lunch, with the ‘average’ being a moderate 8 miles. However, they can range from an easy 6 miles to a strenuous 12 miles. To accommodate as many of our walkers as possible we often run two walks on the same day: one shorter and easier and the other longer and harder.
What else? We occasionally combine our walking with various social activities throughout the year such as a Ceilidh, a BBQ or Hog Roast, a coach trip, a very occasional pub lunch, a Christmas Mince Pie walk, and walking holidays in the UK and abroad.
The photographs show ‘The Striders’ in various locations at walk, at rest, and at play.
How do I Join? We always welcome new walkers. If you are interested please contact a Convenor or just be in the Severn Bridge Social Club car park in Bulwark by 9.20 am on any Monday.
