Bookworms 1 and Bookworms 2 are completely separate but the format is the same for both groups. We select a particular book to read each month and then discuss it at our meeting.
Our choice of reading material is mostly literary fiction. This is mainly because it is relatively cheap to buy and our local library provides us with sets of books especially designed for reading groups.
It is very rare that we all agree on the merits or otherwise of our chosen book but that only helps to make our debates more lively and interesting.
Belonging to a reading group encourages us to read books we would not normally choose for ourselves and in doing so we learn from each other, we broaden our horizons and we have a lot of fun.
